OUTAGE REPORTING

When your power goes off, there are a few things you can do to help us in restoring your power as quickly as possible.

·Check your panel box (breaker or fuse box). Make sure there are none that are tripped or blown.

·If possible, check with neighbors and find out if their power is off. This is helpful to the crew in locating the problem.

Call the Cooperative office at 607-293-6622 or 866-591-3192 to report an outage.

When calling during normal office hours (7:30 am – 4:00 pm) you will speak directly to Cooperative personnel and relay the problem.

When calling after 4:00pm Monday through Friday and on weekends, you will speak with our Dispatching Service.

Please give the dispatcher your name, telephone number, account number and any information that might be helpful to restoring the power, such as location of a tree on power line or a broken pole.  This information will be recorded and Cooperative personnel will be notified immediately of the problem.

Stay away from downed lines and warn others to stay away.  The conductors may remain “hot” even though they may be laying on the ground.

Whenever an outage occurs, you may be certain that Otsego Electric Cooperative personnel are working to restore your power as soon as possible.  We want to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
