Opportunities for Otsego Opportunities for Otsego (OFO) is a Community Action Agency that has been meeting the needs of Otsego residents since 1966. The agency provides a vast array of services to support families and children, including programs to reduce energy costs. OFO’s Weatherization program assists income-eligible homeowners and renters in making energy saving improvements to their home, such as insulation, weather stripping, sealing air leaks, cleaning/tuning heating equipment, replacing broken windows/ doors, or installing Energy Star® rated equipment, smoke detectors, or carbon monoxide detectors. Other energy-savings initiatives are provided through the Energy Opportunities program, Energy Conservation Workshops, and the seasonal HEAP program.

Dig Safely New York is a not-for-profit organization serving all of New York State with the exception of New York City and Long Island. Dig Safely New York's One-Call Center, located in Syracuse, NY functions as a communications hub - relaying pending excavation plans to facility owning members whose buried services may be directly affected by the planned excavation. With each call, Dig Safely New York notifies an average of seven utility owners, saving excavators time and money!

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is the national service organization dedicated to representing the national interests of consumer-owned cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve.

NRECA also offers education and training programs for cooperative directors, managers and employees; collaborative research to enhance cooperatives’ use of technology and insurance, employee benefits and financial services and technical advice and electrification assistance in developing countries around the world.

The New York State Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. (NYSRECA) is a service organization for the New York State rural electric cooperatives.  Its purpose is to foster and promote the mutual interests and welfare of rural electric cooperatives in New York State.

The Otsego County Office of Emergency Services is dedicated to serving and protecting the residents of, and visitors to, Otsego County through the provision of training for Fire and EMS volunteers as well as maintaining and administering an integrated Emergency Management program designed to assure a safe environment through prevention/mitigation, readiness, response, and recovery to natural and/or man made disasters.
